It appears that the harsh European winters took the same toll on the Allies armor and it did Hitler's.
My brother and I made an attempt at a military style paintball park WWII style. We went off the deep end with 100s of intense ideas. We tested arty, motors, grenades (that exploded), bazookas (I had my dad's vietnam LRM I converted to shoot nerf rockets) landmines and the like. These are my tank protoypes, a sherman and a tiger. Each had a 3.5 inch main barrrel that shot about 100 pbs at once. It had a loading breech inside the tank and the turrents rotated. the tiger had an actual M1 Abrams tank periscope for the driver. Power provided by lawn tractors.
I also had a anti-tank gun made. That ran on compressed air - huge tank. We could shoot a full 16 oz plastic bottle of soda about 100 yards on a rope. In fact the "window" you see in the Sherman tank was there because we shot the tank with the anti-tank gun at about 35 - 40 yards and the bottle blew a hole in the side of the tank. We we shooting peaches over the 40 acre feild and out of sight with the gun.
